For the logo, we opted for a cleaner, stronger look, without the gloss and aqua effects of the previous one. At the same time, we kept the balloon shape and made it an icon. The balloon icon is obtained from the O in Pestaola and can be both used in the logo or as a standalone icon.

For the blog theme, we kept the same colour scheme and the footer illustration of the 2008 design, refreshing the whole design while keeping it recognizable and coherent with the previous identity.

Most of our design work went in optimizing layout, spacing and overall readability.

The theme also required quite a lot of development work, in order to integrate Facebook Connect, custom ShortURLs, Twitter and Google search, custom top post, custom thumbnails  and custom comment formatting functionalitites.

jQuery was then used to spice up the UI and add some interactivity.

Based on their direction, we helped them design and develop their new website and blog, using WordPress. The design is built around a custom 8-unit grid, Tool’s colour palette, imagery and visual guidelines.

Mary Anne used to have a static website to promote her work and a couple of Blogger powered blogs.
She wanted to switch to WordPress and to have a coherent web presence.

We redesigned Mary Anne’s website from the ground up, giving it a much more customized and organic look that matches her work.

We built Davistudio to be a central hub of Mary Anne’s online presence: we unified the presentation website, the 2 blogs and the Twitter timeline in one, coherent, WordPress-powered website.

We’ve been called to revamp Tonight.eu’s own corporate/presentation website.

We’ve chosen a minimal, clean style, heavily based on typography. The main goal of this website is leading traffic to the 15 cities websites and to provide general information about the company for investors and advertisers.

We also added a WordPress-powered blog section for staff members to post news, updates and random thoughts.

In september 2008 we were hired to redesign Tonight.eu network from the ground up.
Based on their user experience analysis and wireframes, we designed and built the new user interface of the network, with keen attention to details and coherence. Each element of the UI is carefully skinned to match the whole look & feel.

The project involved dozens of different pages and views and a large number of UI elements, which required us to produce over 30 photoshop files.

We also took care of slicing the designs and convert them into valid XHTML and CSS, providing Tonight.eu developers with templates ready to be integrated into the application. Since the Tonight.eu network is visited daily by thousand of users with different browsers and OS, we needed to test our templates in several browsers, from the obsolete IE6 to the new Google Chrome.

We designed a set of icons (venues types, events types, movies, users, photo/video/media, rating, etc.) and re-usable UI elements (buttons, drop-downs, custom lightboxes, progress bars, form elements, search boxes, etc.)  for Tonight.eu, extensively used throughout the application.
All these elements were then converted into XHTML and CSS classes to be easily used within the templates.
Most of these elements make use of CSS sprites to minimize loading.

We also worked with their developers to achieve a complete customization of the Google Maps, used to locate venues and events.

Lastly we redesigned the network’s email template, used for notification and updates.

The new Tonight.eu network was finally launched Match 1st, 2009.

The blog features a Mootools-based sliding featured posts scroller, a custom YouTube sidebar widget, Flickr integration and WordPress-based upcoming games widget.

We also added a forum community to Jazzbots 2.0, based on a customized installation of PhpBB and some custom PhpBB-to-WordPress plugins. Siloos helped us in this task, taking care of the forum and plugins development.

Lastly, we were asked to develop a set of custom Flash widgets to be used on third-party websites and blogs, displaying the latest blog posts or the games schedule. Those widgets have been developed in Flash, retrieveing data in XML format, exported using a custom PHP extension.

We designed a clean, black and white layout for the site. The main part is played by the photographic footer, featuring an illustration based on several jazz club pictures.

Revamped version of Revimac’s website, which was done back in 2004.
We redesigned the website from scratch, giving it a clean, modern look, making use of steel and carbon-fiber like effects and textures. The website architecture has been redesigned too: while keeping the same technology (Microsoft ASP+Access), we developed the multi-lingual support and the product database from the ground up.

This version of Revimac’s website also features a backend administration panel, which allows Revimac’s staff to add and edit news and manage the product catalogue. It also has basic e-commerce/remote orders management functionalites for registered customers.

Both the website and the backend panel make extensive use of Mootools-based effects.

From May to September 2008 we went through the process of redesigning Rikorda’s website from the ground up. Teaming up with their R&D and marketing consultants, we designed a new layout, making a better use of space and trying to reduce the clutter of the previous website. We went for light colours and a clean visual design, leaving the stage to photos and product pictures.
We also used widgets to segment contents by type, so users can easily browse services, promos or product families.

The new website makes extensive use of Prototype and Scriptaculous-based effects and animated widgets, to change the old-fashioned rotating banners with user-controlled slider and accordions. Siloos once again helped us with the development part.

We provided the frontend design and development (XHTML, CSS and JavaScript), while the core framework has been developed by Rikorda’s in-house IT team, who is also taking care of website contents and updates.
